It is unbelievable how much every single contribution and involvement in the community no matter how big or small they are can cause positive changes and make a difference in other people’s lives. We have created this specific page on our website with the aim of creating awareness about the power and value of giving and showing our support for positive community involvement and the causes we believe in.
We are so glad to know that our support has helped the students with a healthy way to start their day. Read more
"Subject: Thank You for Walking and Donating!
Hello Assertive,
Thank you for supporting the Alzheimer Society of B.C. at the 2015 Investors Group Walk for Memories.
By attending the Walk, you've helped make a difference in your community and improved support for those living with Alzheimer's disease or other dementias and their families.
Funds raised go towards support services, education programs and research for a cure. Researchers have made great progress in the fight against Alzheimer's disease, especially in the last 15 years. Each new discovery builds upon the last, improving our understanding of the disease and bringing us closer to an answer.
Currently over 70,000 British Columbians are living with Alzheimer's disease or another dementia. Age is the greatest known risk factor for dementia - the risk doubles every five years after the age of 65. We know that there is a rising tide of dementia with our aging population. There is hope if we act now.
We hope to see you at next year's Investors Group Walk for Memories. Next year's walk will be taking place in spring 2016.
Sincerely,
Michele J. Buchignani

"Subject: A special thank you, Assertive, for sponsoring Trish in 2015 Investors Group Walk for Memories.
Dear Assertive,
Hi, it's Daphne Tsai, Special Events Officer for the 2015 Investors Group Walk for Memories. I want to thank you personally for sponsoring Trish Neufeld in this year's Walk.
The Walk has been growing in size for several years, with different communities in B.C. involved this year and over $4 million raised since the Walk began.
It's never been more important to keep the momentum going. Alzheimer's disease is the second- most feared disease among Canadian baby boomers, yet there has never been more hope for a cure, given the tremendous research advances over the past 10 years.
The Alzheimer Society of B.C. supports research into risk reduction and a cure. The Society also provides education and support services throughout the province so that families impacted by Alzheimer's disease or another dementia can build the knowledge, skills and confidence to maintain quality of life.
Your gift of $500.00 on Jan 25, 2015 8:46 AM is greatly appreciated and you can be proud to know that you're helping to make a difference. If your gift is $15 or more, you will receive an electronic tax receipt separately by e-mail; for gifts under $15, receipts are issued by request only.
Currently 70,000 people in B.C. are now living with dementia. Nearly 10,000 of those are under the age of 65. If you know of someone, please invite them to contact us so that they can connect to our network of support services and information at www.alzheimerbc.org or 1-800-667-3742. If you'd like to see part of our caregiver services, see our list of free one-hour telephone workshops. It's easy for people to participate from anywhere in the province.
